The Twonky media server coding has a bunch of predefined enteries for DLNA clients that may also affect the way things are displayed. One can access the Twonky Administration page (for example and change the " Navigation Tree" setting (to “By Folder” for example) for new and existing DLNA clients and see if that improves the folder display on the SmartTV. One is the Twonky media server on the My Cloud. There are several issues at play with how the folder structure is displayed when using DLNA. (BTW, the WDTV has been out of production for a few years now, so look into the FireTV/Kodi combo to keep your costs down. Bottom line is the smart tv is actually not so smart, because it only has the media server view and not the SMB view.You need an appropriate media player between the My Cloud and the TV. There are other ways and media players out there, too, that could be used. Another way to view is by using an Amazon Fire TV stick with a media player installed on it called Kodi that allows for viewing either way like the WDTV. I always use the SMB view and it all looks as it does on Win PC. One way is I use a WDTV media player that gives me both views 1) as media server, and 2) as Network shares (i.e.Samba (SMB) view. Although I do not have a smart tv, I do have other equipment for using and viewing my media folders. Please help or leave me a sympathy response to ease my frustration…seriously.As others have suggested, you are seeing the folders only one way, as presented by the My Cloud media server, and if this is a smart TV, you may be stuck with this view only.

What is going on? Anyone else having this issue or might know how to fix this? I’m sure out of ideas of resetting/rebooting this thing here. Now, I log onto the default 192.168.1.100 address for the hard drive to access *TWONKY Media Server* and it Google Chrome says Opps, can’t find 192.168.1.100 : 9000. Go thru the paces above to get it working again. This morning, I turned on my PC…Mapped Hard drives are longer visible. So I shut down my computer and let the Network Storage do it’s jazz all night on my closet shelf.
My Twonky Media was working last night processing all the files for the media database stuff. Since I have yet to see a post or link to any older firmware, I’ll have to resort to figuring out a solution. This issue DID NOT happen AT ALL on FW 1.02.06 (aside from a few rare network outages on other 3rd party devices). The fix was to turn off/on the *My Book-1TB* system and re-map all the drives yet again. However, everytime I restart my computer or shut it down and come back it just doesn’t want to recognize it anymore. Using the WD Discovery Software, I can map my drives and that seems to work fine.
WD MyBook World Edition 1TB fw 1.02.10 updated 2 days ago. I am having the same issues as everyone else as of late. I’ve updated to the new firmware 1.02.10.
